Overview

 

The Company provides industrial waste services to its customers. The Industrial HazMat Driver operates a tractor-trailer and other truck equipment to haul industrial waste to a variety of final disposal or recycle facilities. The Industrial HazMat Driver provides efficient response times and a high level of service to the Company’s customers.

Responsibilities

 

    • Transports hazardous waste, hazardous materials, industrial fluids, and non-hazardous wastes in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines.
    • Operates a variety of vehicles including, but not limited to vans, straight trucks, tankers, vacuum tankers and roll offs.
    • Performs safety inspections and maintains a DOT driver’s log and records, as required by DOT.
    • Conducts pre- and post-trip inspections of all equipment operated as required or instructed.
    • Maintains satisfactory customer service by maintaining radio and/or telephone communication with dispatch, supervisor, or manager to receive instructions on pickups and deliveries.
    • Completes work tickets and maintains daily inventory of tools, fittings and other equipment associated with the transport vehicle.
    • Reports all safety issues, incidents and concerns to Company management and notifies of current and/or anticipated repair needs.
    • Responsible for making sure all jobs are operated in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
    • Use Personal Protective Equipment when needed or required.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
    • May require up to 30% OTR.
    • SWITCHER MUST BE ABLE TO WORK IN TIGHT SPACES to switch trailers and have excellent communication skills

     

Qualifications

 

  • SWITCHER MUST BE ABLE TO WORK IN TIGHT SPACES to switch trailers and have excellent communication skills
  •  
    • High school diploma or GED
    • Knowledge of equipment associated with the trucking of industrial and/or hazardous waste

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Class A Commercial Driver’s License with tanker and hazmat endorsements.
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience driving commercial tr
