Overview

Provides on site environmental cleaning, decontamination, containerization, vacuum, tank/vessel cleaning, solid waste and water/pond lagoon cleaning services for various types of manufacturing facilities, government, utilities, infrastructure, etc..

Responsibilities

  • Identify, remove, pack, transport, or dispose of hazardous/non haz materials, contaminated soil
  • Handling of hazardous/non haz materials possibly in confined spaces
  • May operate earth-moving equipment or trucks
  • Must be adaptable and hands-on with the workflow
  • Must have the ability to wear a tight-fitting, negative-pressure respirator and occlusive chemical protective clothing.
  • Requires working on uneven work surfaces frequent pushing/pulling/carrying of equipment/objects/debris of varying and often awkward sizes, shapes, and weights including bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling drums, totes, and containers, and handling of tank truck hoses.
  • May use hand manual and power hand tools hand shovel with exposure to noise and vibration.
  • Periodic to frequent exposure to hazardous chemicals with designated personal protective equipment.
  • Exposure to elements including heat and cold stress and nuisance dust conditions and woodland, stream-side, and swampland flora and fauna.
  • Perform a wide variety of manual labor tasks associated with HAZWOPER and industrial and commercial waste management operations
  • Practice Companies and OSHA safety rules and regulations

Qualifications

  • Flexibility with overtime
  • May be required to work some weekends
  • Team Oriented
  • Valid driver’s license 
  • Applicant must pass pre-employment requirements: Physical including drug & alcohol screening, background check
  • Frequently lift 40-50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 75 pounds
  • Periodic to frequent exposure to chemicals with designated personal protective equipment
  • Must be willing and able to work 7 days a week, for consecutive weeks, depending on department needs
  • Must be willing and able to work 50 - 60 hours, or more, per week based on department needs
