Overview

 Richmond Area:

 

Position Duties: Performs general manual labor tasks associated with stream restoration/debris clearing and landfill/remedial project work. May operate off-road dump truck and small mechanized earthmoving equipment.   

 

 

Responsibilities

 

 

Primary Responsibility:         Manual Labor, Driving Task

 

Required Training:  New Employee Orientation, Basic Site Safety Orientation, Site Specific Health & Safety Plan, Weekly Safety Meetings, and Chain Saw Safety. Machine-specific orientation for mechanized earthmoving/transfer equipment. HAZWOPER Training required for environmental clean-up/remediation sites.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

 

USDOL Strength Criteria:     Medium-Heavy (CRT Body Index Score 201-225)

 

Physical Requirements:         Requires coordinated use of both hands and feet, vision correctable to USDOT driver standards, adequate hearing to receive instructions and detect safety/emergency signals. Position requires working on uneven work surfaces frequent pushing/pulling/carrying of equipment/objects/debris of varying sizes, shapes and weights. May occasionally lift up to 75 pounds, frequently lift 31-45 pounds and continually lift 16-22 pounds. May use hand manual and power hand tools including chain saws with exposure to noise and vibration. May operate mechanized earthmoving/transfer equipment that involves extended seated work with exposure to rough ground conditions, bumping & jostling and vibration. Exposure to elements including heat and cold stress and nuisance dust conditions and woodland, streamside and swampland flora and fauna. May also be required to perform detail tasks requiring good eye/hand coordination such as tool maintenance and repair. May work up to 12 hours per day, seven days per week. Work on HAZWOPER and environmental clean-up/remediation sites requires meeting applicable medical standards including respirator use.
